Bangkok Day 1
I’ll just get right to the point of this post, which is that there was a park in Bangkok with ACTUAL DRAGONS! Also huge crows flying around and probably hungry for our eyeballs, turtles hanging out, birds that I very scientifically termed “mini cranes,” and some cats thrown in for good measure.
More of the Metropolitan by Como Hotel in Bangkok
We finally got to see Alex! Meeting her at the Shanghai airport, flying to Bangkok, staying up until 5am drinking tea and eating cookies, and lounging by the pool that same morning was as surreal and incredible as you can imagine. And finally some Pad Thai! The room was very simple and chic with a huge bathroom. The pool was lovely if a bit cold for obvious reasons. We’ll actually be back in a week for our dinner at Nahm.
Last Hours of Hangzhou
This was just some random area I stumbled upon before meeting Layla back at the hotel before we departed Hangzhou. It’s one of the famous 10 scenes of West Lake. Something about a brewery or monks or both. Anyway it was of course gorgeous and unlike anything I’d scene before. I took over 100 photos.
Xihu State Guest House Restaurant
Layla and I ended our Hangzhou time with a lunch at this totally in retrospect not for tourists restaurant. It was like in a walled off and guarded area once owned by some general or dignitary or something. The guard at the gate looked real confused, and our driver didn’t have anything to offer. I managed to communicate “lunch,” and we were in. As you can see we got numerous amazing weird dishes, tea and beers, really great views of the grounds, and of course Santa all for like $93 total.
